Advertising objective: Let students know that there is a brand new apartment complex opening close to campus that is incredibly nice and convenient.

Target Market: Students that attend Liberty University and are looking for a nice, new place to live next semester.

Competition: Apartment complexes all around Liberty that are looking for students to live in their apartments.

Statement of benefit or appeal:

• Close to campus and easy to get to
• Only students can live there
• The complex is brand new
• It is a very nice complex in a beautiful area

Creative theme:

Supportive Selling Points:

• Very nice facility for students to enjoy
• Easy to access for students traveling back and forth to campus each day 

The Vue apartment complex on Liberty Mountain is an obvious choice for students in need of housing for next semester. The complex in conveniently close to campus and shuttles will be accessible for students who cannot drive to campus. The complex has very nice benefits for students including a heated pool, common areas, and a very large clubhouse for students to enjoy in their free time. The Vue on Liberty Mountain is brand new and is an incredibly nice place to live for college students. The housing is affordable for all college students and well worth the price. Living at the Vue can completely change the college experience for all college students looking for a new place to live. One could find it very difficult to discover any flaws with living at the Vue on Liberty Mountain.

The Persuaders

The Persuaders 

"The Persuaders" is most certainly an eye-opening documentary. I never would have imagined that companies put that much effort into each advertisement or how hard it is to make something appeal to people.

I find it very interesting how companies use emotion to grab the attention of each viewer. As soon as I thought about it, I realized how easy it works to pull the heartstrings of viewers just to get them to buy their product or donate to them.

ASPCA does a great job of using emotion to get people to donate to their organization. And now everyone knows about their commercials because they work so well.

"The Persuaders" discussed many other forms of advertisements. The documentary mentioned how the way advertisements are made are constantly changing and how more and more people are seeing the ads on TV people are able to skip them now.

Because most people are not watching TV commercials anymore companies have started placing their products in the shows and movies. I think that this idea is genius because most people are not watching commercials and now they are seeing products in their favorite shows.

This documentary opened my eyes to many different ways to appeal to the masses and "The Persuaders" had some great points such as:

• Everywhere we look, we see advertisements. We cannot escape companies attempts to pitch their products to us. Ads are in our favorite shows, all over the internet, and everywhere in between.
• The usage of words is incredibly important. Using a wrong word can change the way a person looks at the company. And using the right words can turn a person on to a company.
• Advertisements are continually changing and every company is looking for new ways to appeal to people. Companies have to be very creative when thinking of ways to pitch their products.

On my honor, I watched "The Persuaders" in its entirety.

Kanye West recently traveled to the United Kingdom to lecture to students at the prestigious Oxford University. Kanye touched on everything from art to his own ego. Needless to say, this had to be a very interesting lecture.

Myspace was, for three years, the largest social networking site on the planet. From 2005 to 2008 Myspace took over the internet and helped pioneer the social media movement the we live in today.

Myspace originated as just a profile-based social media that allowed people to express themselves through how the would personalize their profile and interact with other people around the globe.

Myspace has changed a lot since its beginning. It was sold to Justin Timberlake how had an idea on how to change it and bring Myspace back to life. Timberlake decided to change it into a music-based social media.

The new Myspace allows people to discover new music with ease and still be able to have a personal profile and keep in contact with friends who are still on the website.

Social media is growing every single day and though Myspace is struggling to survive nowadays, the once dominant website still has its perks.

James Harden, Klay Thompson, and Dirk Nowitzki have all recently been named starters in this weekend's all star game. Not one of these players expected to start after the line-ups were first announced, but due to three different injuries on three different starters, Harden, Thompson, and Nowitzki will all find a lot more playing time this weekend.

LeBron and his Cavaliers took on the Miami Heat last for the second time this season last night in Cleveland. With the Heat being LeBron's former team, he got to see some familiar faces last night. The Cavaliers ended up winning by 20 with LeBron scoring just 18 of their 113 points.

Former Ravens RB Lewis auctions off gift Super Bowl ring

Former Baltimore Ravens running back Jamal Lewis auctioned off his Super Bowl ring for a winning bid of $50,820 on Gold Auctions. The Ravens commented saying that Jamal was having money issues and needed to sell the ring as a result, and they are OK with this decision. The ring was from the Super Bowl win in 2012 against San Francisco.

Chicken Truck Crash Leads to an Inconvenient Pile-Up 

 Monday at 6 p.m., an accident involving a semi-truck transporting chickens caused an 11-car pileup at the corner of McFarland and 15th St.

Sergeant John Jones says the crash occurred as a result from Jeff Johnson, a driver out of Alberta City, making an illegal left turn.  Twenty-five people were involved in the accident and police say as many as 300 suffered.

Twenty-three people involved with the accident walked away with only bruises. The truck driver and one other driver have been hospitalized, but are in good condition. Johnson, who was the semi-truck driver, has bruising and a possible broken ankle and the other hospitalized person has a slight concussion but in good condition.

Jones says, “It was the biggest pile-up I’ve ever seen. Lots and lots of smashed bumpers but the worst part was the screams of the chickens. Those things sure do make a lotta noise, you know.”

Police say the 12 cars involved have minor damage. At least 30 chickens are dead; Jones commented about the hefty amount of smashed eggs, “It was so hot out there I thought we might have fried eggs for dinner.” However, 40 chickens seen as very valuable and insured for $10 each remain missing.

A chicken company executive, pres. Carlton Fitzsimmons, asks that if chickens are found they be returned to Alabama Poultry, Inc. These chickens are considered very valuable as they supply eggs to IGA stores across the south. According to Fitzsimmons the dead and missing chickens are worth over $700.

Conrad Hilton charged with assaulting flight attendants, who cuffed him on plane

Conrad Hilton, the youngest of the famous Hilton family, caused quite a bit of trouble on his recent flight from London to Los Angles. Hilton was accused of verbally and physically harming fellow attendants on this plane ride. Hilton will now have to face the consequences of his harmful actions.

Three years into their relationship, Depp and Heard have decided to tie the knot. The couple has been engaged since January 2014 and finally had their quiet wedding this weekend in the Bahamas.

 
Shooting reported at High School in Maryland

During a high school basketball game in Fredrick, Maryland, two students were shot. Officers still do not know who the offenders are or the identity of the students who were shot, but they are just beginning their investigation.
